EarthShake

Everything begins to shake… Earthquake! Earthquake!

All I hear is people screaming

All I see is people running, ducking, taking cover under

Falling ceilings in the building

Crushing women, men and children

And I’m stuck… standing stagnant in this chaos

Tryna move, tryna breathe

Poland spring machine spewing water

Feeling like the elevator, out of order

Fire burning, sweat dripping, head turning, world turning

Walls begin to bend… I see a child in the corner

Crying out mommy! Mommy!

I’m still standing still, I can’t move, I can’t breathe

The windows crash, walls fall, now all I see’s debris

Mommy! Mommy! I don’t hear no more, all I hear are screams

Dwayne… I hear my name as my arm is grabbed

I’m dragged, stiff as a board, more scared than sad

Or more sad than scared, can’t inhale with all this smoke inside the air

Bang! Upon a steel beam blood drips

As I notice that the arm pulling me has lost its grip

I look to the left… I look to the right

The shaking’s getting worse, so dark, there’s no light

The floor begins to give, I slip I feel an arm

I pull it closer to me, there’s no body just an arm

The same arm that was pulling me, as the shaking starts to calm…
