YOU ARE THE LUCKY ONE
A letter written by a mother to her 10 year old daughter to open while she is on a school trip to the Isle Of White.
When you open this letter I know you will be alright,
Enjoying your year 5 trip to the Isle Of White.
This all girl trip will be full of fun,
Oh my goodness ,YOU ARE THE LUCKY ONE!
You will learn about the coast and climate change,
Belonging to a team and independent, might feel strange.
But the foundation of your future when you look back and view,
In the safe hands of your carers looking after you.
I believe you are sleeping in rooms of two to six beds.
Please don't snore when you rest your heads.
You'll be enjoying the company of your friends and talking,
Inform your teachers if there's any sleep walking.
I know you will be busy and unable to phone,
With your friends and teachers your never alone.
Treat everyone in charge with respect at all times,
I love writing this poem to you full of rhymes.
Remember to be well mannered at meal times and clear the tables,
Any electronic devices will be confiscated and disconnected from cables.
I hope your luggage wasn't too heavy on arrival,
With essentials packed in there for your survival.
Around the Isle of White you will happily roam,
Until next Friday when you will come home.
Full of joy and compassion after being out there,
With your friends and teachers,WHAT AN EXPERIENCE TO SHARE !

Hugh As brilliant as your poem is, it will be greatly improved by the correct spelling of the Isle of Wight.
