The Night It Came
As I perched on my chair
Watching the paint on my wall parch
I hear maniacal dull tapping from my hallway
Provokes an idle yell from me
Calm your tapping for it distress my soul
At this moment a grin came a walking
It's tattered ways was a knocking
I was bewilder by its presence
On this October tempest night
For it was a being of all freights
