thoughts of you
Plastic detritus wraps itself round
waving legs of jellyfish,
hidden in virulent breaths of
the ocean, floating through
patches of matted hair,
caught in metal teeth.
Innocent flowers
diminish and decay,
millions
melt into nothing,
too far away to feel
lamenting cries lost families,
howls and hounds
choke and die in the black air
of factory fog before
being heard.
You cause a flood with
fleeting gratification, thinking
the world is just a place for
you to put your needs in.
You even
speak of others to go to,
fill more with your garbage bags
brimming over with earth's failure,
before everything's full
falling to nothing,
left to conquer
and the waste rolls
over empty lands
logged with corpses.
