Under Water

It's like a river crashing down
upon me.
A giant wave
hit the rocky shore.
I keep too much inside.
I never let my heart breathe.
I busy my mind
with distractions and dreams.
I ride the ocean.
I just forget that the wave
that I cling to
will come down,
crashing upon me,
and I will have no choice
but to feel.
I rather keep my emotions
under water,
but there are times
when the river will
crash down upon me.

Melissa~ This poem is wonderful!
You have described a lot of emotions that you experience in life. Thought provoking as well. Great use of metamorphosis.

GREAT POEM!!!
