Before the time that life began

Perhaps the earth was still

No thunderous skies or crashing waves

No sound God's ear could fill

When life evolved, then so it was

First fins , then feet, then wings

Lumbering beasts that walked the earth 

To the voice of a whale as it sings

Man came along and walked out of the caves 

With a dream in his heart to fulfil

Believing all life belonged only to him

With a bloodlust to conquer and kill

And now planet earth has a hole in its soul

Children starving and dying in need

Due to selfishness, harnessed by greed

I long for a world that will heed its mistakes 

Give respect to those lives lost in war 

A global belief in compassion and peace

For a future that's worth living for..
