The girl everyone ignores
Secretly at night, she cries herself to sleep,
In the presence of others, she's too afraid to speak,
She craves her parents' attention, but they pay her neglect,
The girl that's unappreciated and given no respect.
Her true inner self must be stifled and drowned.
Alone and isolated; there's never anyone around,
To help and mend, this damaged soul.
Who carries on her shoulders, the weight of the world!
So empty on the inside, she forgot how to smile,
She wears shame and dishonour as her personal style.
A girl who looks in the mirror, and sees a mistake,
Who has turned to drugs in the hope of an escape!
The walls are closing in; how much more will she bear?
She's calling for help....yet no one can hear!
Of her emotions and feelings, she's been stripped clean,
Invisible to others....she remains unseen!
Suspended from school, while her grades began to drop,
She's reaching out to her parents; she's trying non-stop!
She needs them; she wants them to just be there!
She's disappearing, fading and no one seems to care!
This girl has become tired and has lost all hope,
She's defeated, broken and at the end of her rope,
She's now forced to do something, she's thought of before,
As she can no longer put up with this life anymore!

Beautifully expressed, this could apply to boys as well.
Thank you for your writing, Zahir.
