I picked up a crocodile at an illegal pet shop,

Put it in the car but soon had to stop.

A car pulled up flashing its blue light,

I had to stop it gave me a fright.

 

The cop said that I had been speeding.

I said to him," My crocodile needs feeding."

"So you broke the speed ,limit to get him fed !!"

The crocodile didn't like this and bit off his head.

 

News of this  tragedy swiftly spread through the town.

My crocodile because of this incident had to be put down.

While at  the vet's waiting for his injection,

He swallowed the vet and avoided detection.

 

I rushed him home to live with me,

He was seven feet long and running free.

Other than vets and policemen what do they eat?

They should have a balanced diet of fish and meat.

 

Burglars breaking into my house take heed,

You could end up as my crocodile's next feed.

A burglar did break into my house,

He was snapped up and swallowed as if a mouse.

 

He had a weep while devouring his prey,

No tears of remorse I hasten to say.

Crocodiles produce tears to lubricate their eyes,

To slay humans and eat them is no surprise.

 

The word crocodile means worm of the stones.

Waits in the water to catch its prey and crush  bones.

Recently a bereaved mother lost her daughter,

Dragged by a crocodile in India into the water.

 

Crocodile numbers around the world have boomed,

While threats to humans have zoomed.

Oops! Have just woken up after a crocodile nightmare,
