Divination:

“div-i-na-tion”: noun, Origin – Latin “divinare”- to predict -” Synonyms” – prophecy, prediction, soothsaying, clairvoyance, second sight….

The practice of seeking knowledge of the future or the unknown by supernatural means. The art or practice that seeks to foresee or foretell future events or even discover hidden knowledge, usually by the interpretation of omens by use of magickal tools to aid supernatural powers.

 There are many things which can be used for divination, from a candle to a mirror or even a cup of coffee or tea. However the Tarot is becoming increasingly popular as a method of divination, and more people are discovering it as a very useful tool to help them get in touch with what is happening in their lives.

Before we begin looking at the Tarot, I think it is necessary to first discuss divination as a whole first before you begin this journey of enlightenment with me.

 What is Divination?

 Divination is a way of finding out the answers to questions. It comes from a word divine which means “Make out by inspiration, Magick, Intuition or even guessing and as well as foreseeing, prediction or conjecture”

The word divination according to my dictionary means “Divining, insight, predict”

It is a divining insight into discovering the unknown or the future by using a skilful forecast or a very good guess if anything else. We use these tools to help us see the answers to the questions our hearts and souls are so longingly asking for.

 However beware, Divination is NOT fortune telling. It Is far from attempting to tell the future. We use divination to aid us in getting in touch with the present situation and the subconscious Self. Through divination we try to understand the subtle energies of a particular situation. We seek advice on how to handle it and that we can possibly look at the likely outcome of a situation. Divination helps us to look at the particular situation as a whole rather than only from our limited perspective and this may aid in timing and focussing our energies towards whatever our situation may be. All divination does is to help you see that path a little more clearly and could serve to help you or even be a warning to you with that particular situation that you were not even aware of.

 As conscious thinking Human Beings, we are ALWAYS in control of our decisions and actions. We all have the gift of Free Will and Choice and it is always up to us to make our own choices which sets us on our own individual paths. Even though the cards may point to a particular situation and may even be able to see what is likely to happen if we continue down that road, it is not something set in stone and we can change our course of action at any point we choose to do so. Free Will is YOUR gift and YOUR gift alone. No one can or has the right to take that away from you. You are the master of your own destiny.

 How Divination Works:

 On a sub conscious level we can see all, we know all and we are whole in the spirit. We know our own truths and we know the answers we seek, but on a conscious level we cannot see or hear them.

The sub conscious knowledge manifests as an energy and this energy field exists all around our physical bodies. We know this energy to the Ether or the Universal energies which is linked to our Aura and by tapping into this aura or the Universal energy, with using curtain tools of divination such as candles, tarot, runes etc., helps to aid us with the Divine and their messages on the more physical conscious.

 With Tarot Divination we have the ability to bring the subconscious energies into our conscious mind by developing a better understanding of the cards and using them to help us in a particular situations and with this new insight we are better equipped to take the appropriate actions needed for our spiritual journey ahead. By gaining a deeper connection with the Cards and spending time in getting to know them on a more frequent bases, you will begin to slowly see the messages more clearly and by forming a stronger bond with your deck the universal energies will open up more easily to you and speak directly to you through them and soon you will find that your relationship with the cards becomes quite a unique link between the Worlds.

 We as the human race of Beings, are made up of very different types of energy. Apart from the physical energy that is obvious to anyone, we also have a spiritual and emotional energy. It has been proven time and time again that our spiritual and emotional energy exists in a space far bigger than our earthly physical bodies. We cannot see, hear nor touch it, but we do feel it and know through faith that it is very much there and apart of us and I am not the only one who believes that it is very much connected to our subconscious self, which is then connected to the Ether, the Universal energy around us that our earthly eyes cannot see, nor our physical self can touch. Yet faith is the evidence of things unseen and from that faith we know we are a part of something far greater than what our physical mind perceives and our earthy eyes can see. We are part of the Universal and Divine energies that flow through us and around us every day. We are an incredible Existences with a sub conscious Self or Higher self that is aware of all aspects and of all things that are happening in our lives, whether or not you believe it we are still intertwined within that energy.

 And so when we perform Tarot Divination we are tapping into and getting in touch with this “Subconscious” energy and those who read the tarot get to interpret them into a more understandable language. The symbols and the picture placed before them, in curtain types of layouts can serve as an important facture to helping us understand these interruption. By us understanding the translation through these symbols and pictures, the Tarot and these layouts grants us the messages and answers that the seeker is seeking to find.
