Still

I stand looking at you with eyes that can no longer see.

I whisper your name but the whisper dies even before it leaves my mouth.

I try to look for tears but all I find is a desert.

A desert that walked me to blindness.

Blindness of every kind, blindness of everything.

One step forward and I'll fall.

A step backward I'll drown.

I stand still holding my breath.

A breath that no longer belongs to me.

It wants to escape,

But it's escape would be the end of me.
