Starting fresh.
If only he knew how much she loved him. If only his heart was big enough to feel that and envelope the love she wanted him to accept. The fire that raged between them was violent but always temporary, and if only he saw that. It wasn’t complicated what happened between them. It was young love. Nothing more, nothing less.
They were lucky to experience it. They were grateful to feel it. But was she really that naive to think it’d last or just too optimistic?
They had big plans for the future.. dreams of travelling, of feeling the sea’s salty breeze against their skin once again. Of spending lazy mornings together, with the only audible sound being their raw echoing laughter and sizzling of burning oil during a pancake disaster.
It’s not surprising he fell out of love before her though, he couldn’t commit to eating healthy let alone a relationship lasting more than three months.
And it’s funny what feelings do to a person, make the heart malleable and suited to the taker. We do what we can for the people we love. Just to see their lips stretch into the creases of their face, and then all of a sudden a warmness spreads through your soul like molten lava, blanketing you momentarily. It’s a special feeling that kind of happiness, so pure and good for the soul, leaves you feeling so satisfied like no food can; and in that moment, you feel safe, like nothing could happen to tear away that smile and feeling present between you. You are inseparable.
. . .
But ultimately all good things come to an end, some gracefully and some destructively. And the soul has the chance to rebirth; to reroot itself to nature and the owners purpose. To achieve, to grow and to flourish in this new environment they must set up for themselves. Life is not only a challenge as they tell you, but it provides many chances to restart, and each time you learn something new. Whether it be about yourself or the people around you, yet you don’t give up because there is always something better waiting around the corner for you, waiting for you to get back up on your feet after a battle and reach for it. So do it. Don’t let it go, despite of what’s happened to you. Do it for you, you deserve more.
