January Blues

All through January

I searched through the house

For something to fit me

But couldn't find a blouse

As I got dressed

I went all numb

Couldn't find anything

To cover my bum

A pair of stretch leggins

My husbands' shirt

Was all I could find

To cover my girth

The wine and chocolates

Went down with ease

I never refused

Just said yes please

Oh the crisps that I nibbled

Gin and tonic to taste

The whole of Christmas

Has gone to my waist

Now till all the extra

Pounds have vanished

Nibbles and chocolates

Have all been banished.

Nice poem which delivers your accent as I read it. Performance poetry without the appearance. Well done

"... The wines and chocolates went down with ease I never refused.... "
".... The whole of Christmas has gone to my waist... "

Quite descriptive.
Christmas Joy January Sorrow. January is really a good month, you know.

Splendid!!
