EVERY MAN HAS HIS REASON FOR LIVING

EVERY MAN HAS HIS REASON FOR LIVING

                            AND HIS PRICE FOR DIE’ING

JUST ONE QUICK LOOK INTO ETERNITY

WERE THERE’S COMPLETE DARKNESS AND CONFUSION

ONE FLOATING FLOWER

A SUNSET AXE LAID INTO A HATCHETED HEART

A GLANCE UP AT THE BOMBER

NO EYES, BUT NUT COLOURED HAIR

STRETCHING  FOR MILES AND MILES

SHE NEVER HAD TOYS

AND HAS FORGOTTEN ALL THE FACES

IN THE FULL HEIGHT OF THE MIRROR

I REMEMBER ALL THIS

BUT IT WAS A LONG TIME AGO

NO INFORMATION SET DOWN

SO YOU CAN SAY, THAT’S IT

IVE BEEN THERE

IVE STOOD BESIDE THE THREE TREES

WERE GHOSTS TRY ON OLD FOLKS SHOES

NOBODY LIVING CAN LOOK FOR LONG

AT WERE THERE ROOTS BEGAN

I THINK I SHOULD TURN AROUND

AND RUN OUT OF HERE

MY SECOND BEST GOODBYE

TO THE ONE I LOVE

UNTIL I DIE

AND MY BODY LIES WITH THE ACORNS IN THE DUST

AND THE WIND BLOWS AND BLOWS

AND FLASHING SNOW SITS IN THE SILENT GARDEN

YES JUST ONE QUICK LOOK INTO ETERNITY

THE SAFETY CATCH FOREVER DANGEROUS

OBSCURE AND TROUBLED

AND I ESCAPED FROM THE BATTLE

AND FELL ONTO THE MERCY OF A UNIFORMED MAN

WHO WAS THE EAGLE ON THE STILLBORN ALTER

AND WHO SPOKE OF HIS EXIT INTO ETERNITY

BUT ASKED WHY IT WAS SO PAINFUL

I LOVED HIS PRIDE

HIS GYPSY PATHS OF SUMMER
