Catharsis

Preamble

Catharsis is the process of releasing and therefore providing relief from strong or repressed emotions

 

Have you ever let your mind go

Let it go, roam free?

Don't know where it's heading?

Where it's end will be?

 

This was one of these....

 

Some poems spill out easy

While others grind out, hard

Which one do I want to post?

Which one needs dropping guard?

 

Some poems are cathartic

I put them up on screen?

To all the many strangers

That I have never seen?

 

I have a need to type them

And view them on my screen

I guess it's all 'bout sharing

With strangers I've not seen

 

This concept I've called 'sharing'

Assumes mutual respect

Between all of us poets

We wish not to deject

 

Each poet has a choice

At how cathartically

They poetize their feelings

Through them, or ones they see

 

Mine expose my inner self

And put myself at risk

To predators a'circling

Who want to feeling-frisk

 

But that's the risk I take....
