A killer above the law
The red sun rises,
The hounds heave and wretch from the sickly rotten stench,
With blood on their breath, they’re in up to their necks,
Nothing more surprises,
Than the silver tongue in the maw of he who was given to being more,
But is now simply a killer above the law.
The mothers weep,
They cry and mourn, their children torn by coalition shots in the morning,
A venture misunderstood, collecting firewood, given no warning,
Now given eternal sleep,
The dead and clouded eyes saw just what this was for,
All for a killer above the law
The guests arrive,
They converse, laugh and moan unaware of the drone,
All the innocents in the zone as the crosshairs are honed,
None get out alive,
Miles away from the bullet riddled bodies, the blood and the gore,
Sits comfortably, the killer above the law
And of our troops,
Apparently into no danger they go, the IEDs blow,
Yet for all the stings to their bows, still onwards they go,
To prove the worth of their groups,
As a country lays maimed and gnawed, shredded and torn,
By the killer above the law
The battle ensues,
The crowd, quick to take flight, turns its back on the fight,
The martyrs carry on into the night, all knowing they are right,
Though none know what to do,
Those who dare peer through the door, disturbed to the pith and core,
As might makes right for the killer above the law
