Coming back

I am coming back to you                                                                                       For no good reason                                                                                            Eyes wide open, empty hands                                                                              To kill time                                                                                                             On this meaningless journey                                                    

We have been estranged for a long while                                                 Connecting sporadically in futile thoughts

This insistency in deifying you                                                                          Made me a non-believer

You are no religion                                                                                                 No existential prerogative                                                                                      No calling, no mystery, no salvation

You see                                                                                                                      I am coming back to you                                                                                        For no good reason

Thank you for your insightful comments, I really appreciate them. Although the poem refers to coming back to writing poetry, I am afraid your view is still relevant!

You gave me too much credit for layout, I just made a mess of the cut and paste process.
