Through curiosity generated by some readings of others' writing here on WoL, I've recently done a bit research on these forms you mention. I've always been a big fan of keeping things short and sweet in my personal work, so the tanka and gogyoshi may be more of a go-to for my future posts.

Well, to give a direct answer, John, would be to imply that you don't understand the possibilities behind the usage of the pronouns.
And, to know that you ponder at all, David, is a privilege. The thing about pondering is that it doesn't require the satisfaction of knowing if it is right or wrong--it is a sort of joy in itself.
