Veil of Words
Letters are so very innocent
Meerly our pawns in the grand scheme of things
They have no ill intent, no feeling of love, no rule as to which emotion the shall portray
Alone they are meaningless
We have the power to take these lost souls and form them into threads of words
Those seemingly random letters are no longer a raw material
They now have meaning, but yet they are still lost, they still do not know their own power
It isn’t until we weave those threads into a veil of
thoughts that they hold any true significance
We give meaning to these letters
Without our feelings they are nothing
But they are still the strongest weapon we have
Together, these loops of ink on parchment combined with everything that thunders around in our minds, we have limitless power
With this I can take all that you hold dear, all of your wishes, your dreams, your hopes…and I can give them sustenance
I can make you believe in yourself
I can make you run to your goals
I can make you a stronger person
I can make you grow to heights you never thought possible
But I can do more than this
I can take these same desires and spit on them
I can tear you down, rip you to shreds
I can reach my hands into you, clasp my fists around your organs, twirling my fingers until I find your deepest darkest desire, then I can pull it away from you.
Letting you feel each ligament tear and snap back to you
Torturing your innards, leaving you hollow. A rotting shell left in my path of destruction
And what compels me?
It doesn’t matter
For these words formed from meaningless letters are at my beck and call.
They are my playthings
They shall bend to my will
And why you ask?
Because it amuses me
Do not act as if you are powerless
Do you not have a tongue?
Then you can spit venom at me as well
Acid landing on the mind, eating away at one’s soul, until they are nothing but an oozing mess, leaving them to melt into nothingness
And all because we chose to give meaning to wind passing through the human body

This is a really forensic analysis of letters and how they can be used, and abused. A very clever and well thought out piece.
