A Summer´s Morn
A Summer´s Morn
I look down at my feet in dew soaked grass
which glistens a fresher green
awash with nascent life
Close by a tree with fledgling leaves
stands as a proud silhouette
before a rising sphere of incandescent flame
A canopy of azure, an awning
of the natural world holds sway
Sounds of birds joyously in flight
as pigeons nod to and fro for food
A distant dog barks to announce his presence
Moles have wreaked havoc
in a nearby field with a landscape
of volcanic mounds
A cat leaps from path to branch
a bee caresses an open bloom
Swans glide gracefully along the river
with ducks in duteous single file do follow
Curtains yet to be drawn
as human life holds fast to its slumber
The natural world enjoys its
Coronation in uninterrupted light
