This is a magnificent photograph. These two are so truly married.

Married people start to look alike. The dog's head and shoulders sag, and the man's do, too. Their eyes narrow without losing vigilance, and their mouths both show strong, but wary, resolve.

They both know how to fold arms and legs for efficient heat retention. Trust makes it unnecessary to cling to one another.

This is companionship of the highest order.
