Conversations with a Soul

 

Preamble

For some reason I couldn't get line spacing to follow original
 

Why do I communicate with poetry?
Why not the language of the commoner?
Like hello, how are you today? or
Are you enjoying the weather?

 

Alphabetical words strung together like washing on a line

Anatomically arranged in correct grammatical order.

No deep thinking

No intellectual interaction

Conversations on the outskirts of life

Like strings of words in a newspaper

Lines of surface information
Lines of words

But with no soul

Don't get me wrong

Common language has its place

Information imparter

Today the weather will be cold

Are words, but without soul
 

So why do I choose poetry

In communication with you?
Deep thinking it requires of us
Intellectual interaction too
Conversations with a soul

 

Chosen words strung together.
But with carefully thought out precision

Not thrown together willy-nilly
Conversations with a soul
