Whiskey Glass
Why do some look at life through the bottom of a whiskey glass?
Are they looking for a reality that they can not see normally or are they looking at reality?
Do they search for emotions that they have hidden and locked away or are they running from the emotions they have?
Are they trying to hide from their emotions or are they trying to feel again?
What if they are trying to do all of the above? What if they are running from reality while searching for reality? What if they are hiding from their emotions so they can actually feel again? Are they hiding while they are searching and what is it that they are searching for?
It is a sad state of affairs to be so lost in the complexity of dualitity just to feel liberated. Is whiskey really that powerful? Can it really do any of this? I wonder......
As I watch the last drop of whiskey wind and snake down the glass to my anxiously awaiting lips I feel exhilarated and depressed. The painful sweet nectar is ready to burn my pain away and it is about to reach my lips; but it is the last drop, the last taste I will get and then I will be starting my return to reality - or will I be returning to my escape?
The world can be so very different when it is viewed from the glass bottom.
