That purports to tell us who we are and who we must be.

Genetically, you canna convince me;

Sinister motives mebbe but sinister consequences, aye.

A sparkly world of the eternally new 

'fwiended' with a lipth

of likes

Can you adam and heave it:

networking on a stick

everybody's sick

of it.

This pretended amiability in all its falsity

Redolent of the reverse-rectitude life in any English city today, circa summer 2019.

'Leaders' tell us that our community must, simply must,

Befriend this or that refugee make him or her feel, magically, at-home

How?

When I do not feel at home, and haven't done in years.

A stranger in a strange land, my multi-ethnic anonymous facebookfriend,. 

Diversity is just the only way to be - we're all aliens now

Let's just see: Celts, Jutes, Frisians, Angles, Saxons, Normans

Took centuries and centuries to learn to tolerate each other

And stop murdering each other

This English 'community' coalesced slowly: 

A thousand years of wars brought Geordie, 

Scouse,  RP,  Cockney into a common heritage

That has survived 1500 years;

whilst the multi-ethnic, diversity-friendly, right-on, pc 

Roman empire disappeared swiftly into the ruins of eternity.
