Poet in Training 2017

Muck/Duck/Fuck

My head is doing circles

My brain is all amuck

Neurons racing everywhere

Head it tries to duck

My head is still a'circling

My brain won't de-amuck

Neurons? Given up on them

Shrug shoulders, what the fuck

Sit/Fit/Shit

My head it likes to sit

Where it always sits

My neck it likes to feel it too

This poem's full of shit

I've tried so very hard

To use this sit/fit/shit

And show my education

By rhyming all of it

Well-trained I am at rhyming

Sit with fit and shit

I Phd'd at uni

In how to silly-git

I know you think I'm joking

Don't mock me down the wire

Old WOLers know to not play with

Someone who's on fire

You not talking about our brian are you DoRoThY? He must've gone to a different school. Public maybe? I went to a private one....?

The 'Poet in Training' label was not in jest. I only started writing two years ago and felt I hadn't earned the title of 'Poet' at that stage. At the bottom of my work I would always put:

I want to create And I want to share

I then found WOL and now feel happy to be called a 'poet'. Albeit an offbeat and skewed one. Not screwed.

Thankyou Lisa.

I'm a mixed bag when all is said and done. My serious and comic always fight to be centre stage. It's I who holds the key to the stage door.

I have always fought for humour to be more a part of WOL. We all need it to brighten our day.

in more ways than one

So stop scratching your ballowx
And get those poems done

You tend to make me giggle
During which I tend to wiggle

Laughing so hard
I'm hungry
Where the f is my bagal

Been a silly git
Requires a level of wit
And you don Matthew's
You sure do have it ?

It's all fun and games
Until you get serious
Then we're left wondering
Has don gone mysterious

Your poems are always a pleasure to read
Some take time
Others require speed

But when you make us laugh
Sure that's all anyone really needs
So please
Keep them coming
Were waiting anxiously ?

I am a novice poet
Trying to learn the ropes
My friend said it will drive me nuts
How am I gonna cope?

Began my new-rope learning
In two-o-seventeen
I now can rhyme my it with git
Great progress this has been

Major leap.....

Backwards......
