landings
Landings
Dedicated to Pete Crompton who found the room where he was born
Waiting by the window
In the car park
Or in the branches of the young beech trees
Holding on
Listening
Expecting
Have you done this before?
Which one? Which one is yours?
The woman lying quietly, catching every beat
The woman pacing on puffed out feet
The woman rocking and rocking again
Or the woman screaming in fear and in pain
How will I know?
No lights
No runway
No air traffic control
For an arrival from Eternity
Alighting in maternity
A landing place for the soul

'pacing on puffed out feet'
nice layer and connection
(puffed out reminded me of a breeding ritual! )
many connections
I was curious to the absent father
made me wonder with your experience
if many were alone in birth
I saw the landing as the arrival
i like the puzzles of poetry
our own intepretations
thanks!
