SLUG
Slide, slide, slide away
On your belly every day
In our gardens, and our sheds
Making dark places your comfy bed
No puppy dogs tails for the slugs and snails
But plants and bulbs to ruin and munch
Especially at night so you need no lunch
It’s not the story, it’s the way I tell it
Excuse me while I put down some slug pellets
I’ve tried making them walk on eggshells
But they find a way round as if by smell
They can’t resist pellets, and gobble them up
So another job tomorrow moving dead slugs!
