I’m disappointed to discover

I’m not your only friend in the world

 

I took the responsibility seriously 

And gave you my undivided attention 

 

during our speakerphone 

cleaning sessions

 

I’m trying to decide 

what would give me

 

satisfaction 

at this point 

 

I’m leaning towards 

painful silences 

 

interweaved with barbed comments

and misconstrued anecdotes 

 

delivered to my power circle 

over coffee and cakes

 

I think we can clearly see  

who the victim really was
