imagine
imagine
imagine a people
totally severed
from their birth language
and tangible culture.
imagine a people
shipped to a new land
and coined sub-human
by those that control.
imagine a people
deprived of all schooling
then many years later
seen as hostile and brutish.
imagine a people
thank God all-mighty
free at last,
in word only.
imagine a people
free at last
subdued by discrimination,
imprisonment and redlining.
imagine a people
murdered by the law
because the freed people
don't fit an accepted image.
imagine these people
overcoming adversity
and learning self-acceptance
outweighs anyone else's.

Philipos, I hear you loud and clear.
My heart bleeds for the peoples, not aware of how unacknowledged past wrongs still affect them negatively, generations later.
As long as we remain ignorant about the connectivity of all life,
change will remain in the sphere of duality and superficial relating.
Philipos, thank you for commenting on 'imagine".
