she insisted on keeping her distance 

told me she knew how to use it 

 

helped bring things into focus 

putting them in a wider context 

 

didn’t mind feeling uncomfortable 

though I never fully got used to it

 

never met in the same place

don’t think she really had one

 

see her everywhere although 

It’d be a stretch to say 

 

she ever looked “comfortable” 

we chatted often 

 

but I doubt 

we’ll meet again
