Reason to Stay
When sun comes against all odds
And the colours of life just pop
Or when the rain falls
It falls and falls
And you wet your lips
With piping hot tea
With warm biscuit
Savour the crumbs
Cosy and safe
In the arms of a jumper
The padding of the sofa,
Like a huge hug
Or when your face aches,
Your stomach vibrates
Because you are fighting to breathe
Through laughter -
Laughing, laughing
Friends,
When one sees you
And says so
Family,
When one reaches out
And holds you
And the music that GETS YOU
And that book that made you sink
And that movie that made you think
And think…
And hunger pains,
How they can be cured
In the first bite
Of the best burst of flavour
That you might not care to eat tomorrow
But
That’s the trick
It is tomorrow
Tomorrow always changes
Because you always change
Go to sleep crying
Go,
Yes, you can rest
But stay,
Wake up
And sometimes
You feel
New
Like you never knew at all
You didn’t want to wake
Like you always knew
Things change,
That one memory
Could become one more

It's pretty much all here Alexandra, all those rich feelings, impressions, experiences that identify us. I think the description of hunger is well observed, how no matter how hungry we can be, it is easily assuaged with one bite, a clever allegory perhaps? And of course the way life changes. It never stops. Well done!
