Alternative Vow
Ran to exhaustion from the world as known,
found a wild wood where a dreamer should pause.
Sui generis flew an owl of comfort,
for this high mercy I pledge you my heart.
By the song of the moon and the world's cry
shepherding we two closer still-
where the corn is ground for the evening feast,
hear me pledge again my whole heart to you.
Stories of love told over and over
make future days the soul can believe in
but words of truth I hold the most dear,
only with these I'll pledge my heart to you.
Once more in touch with my animal side,
my sixth sense revealed and revealing.
With this embrace that I'll never weaken
once more let me pledge my good heart to you.
