I have dug a grave at the side of my path this year, Don, in which I shall lie in wait.
Am I that obvious, Taylor?

Thanks, Big Sal! Yes, Picasso is among the great artists who are posthumously famous. Claude Monet, Emily Dickinson, Sylvia Plath, Henry David Thoreau and Edgar Allan Poe were a few of the others who were swimming around in my thoughts.

..how we feel, at times, that all is won or lost by fate--
"cause if you were a winner you wouldn’t need to choose."
Mae, we could go on and on here. But, you and I both know that we are each gods in our own game, in a way.
..good to see your post,
Rachel

(re Sorry bone) Thanks Martin, High Praise; I blush?
The words were poured out and while upon reflection I thought it a tad confusing, I then recalled that that is the case with most of my verse.
The photo' was taken by myself. It is of the interior of Liverpool's Tate Gallery. The silhouette is of an unknown (to me ) woman.

You obviously know about
The 'Hire a Body' scheme
The morgue it does provide us
To make the kiddies scream
I hope they did not charge much
Had sufficient bods to fill
All their halloween orders
To give the kiddies grill ?

One wonders how there can be procreation
When seeing the bare truth of the human situation!
Surely the triumph of the creative imagination
Over the jaw-dropping realisation! ?
Brian - it could be that Jennifer is too young to know of the
popularity of Les Dawson and his unrivalled (?) female role comedy sketches.

unfortunately this can happen especially now in the age pf cyber bullying. My sister used to get bullied at school being shy and with beautiful red hair, which for some reason is picked upon. She was miserable at school throuhg no fault of her own.
Great writing and food for thought

Nice, as one now expects. Speaking from experience? Only very little, diffused light, or candles is a solution. I only hope Brian's nasty crack comes because he isn't getting any! One could also say he probably has the wife he deserves!!

Many thanks for your thoughts, Don, Graham, Brian and MC. I expect fewer visitors this year. Last year I strung up a body swinging by the neck from our front porch and rigged a fishing line trip wire to activate a bat to swing down among them. You should have heard the screams.

Hi Brian! Always happy to hear from you - and hope all is
well with you in the land of the long-suffering and put-upon! Funny, isn't it, how lands that have put themselves
out - working to achieve great things, now act as a magnet
to those whose own motivation and pride in country seem
so lacking. It conjures up the worker whose idle neighbour seeks to benefit from his industry and sacrifice by moving in! ?

Hi TC -
the recording/music for my lyric "Where Do You Go?" was
by Bob Evans who has a number of CD albums to his credit.
You can look him up (Bob Evans Music) online. Over to you.

Mark and Brian, I concur completely with your comments and the message in your poem. The re-interpretation of national history seems rampant here as well, and the popular political and social 'movements' lead and supported mostly by younger folk (although probably initiated and funded by others with their own motives).

Well worth a reprise - great curmudgeonly content that
contains a considerable ring of truth.
Pete Seeger - grin and bear it!!
Freedom now means you can share it -
From the living who are giving
Something to sing there within your grave!! ?

Thankyou for all your range of views here.
Yes, emails have their advantages (and disadvantages). They are quick and easy
Anya got what I meant. Letters have a soul. If someone had taken the time to write you a hand-written letter with pen and ink how would it make you feel?.....
Emails have their place
In society
Trouble there's no art
In it for you or me
Show me there's no art
Composing. writing letters
My life would be richer
Receiving one, yes better ?

To write a letter is better.
Too late to become a trend setter.
Unfortunately we are very lazy.
Our letter writing skills are getting hazy.
So we must turn to writing poems instead,
Exercising the brain within our head.

I am not sure what is better, writing a letter on an infrequent, less stressful basis, or emails passing back and forth very quickly adding to stress.
The latter is not going away so, I guess we should just learn to relax about our amount and speed of emails.

Procreation's often done in the dark
Leaving one's own imagination
To create it's own image, quite stark ?
