Thank you Cynthia - you're an angel and your comment means a lot. I've worked on that one for ages and just couldn't get it poetic enough. I reached a stage where I binned it or posted it. The emotions and feelings in it were important to me though as it's a poem I've always wanted to write. I wish I could have done it better justice. Your comment really hit the mark xx

Like a tank - you write like an armoured tank plowing through emotions. The strength of feelings is so great that picky details are just irrelevant. An excellent theme.

Stella - that's an interesting hypothesis.
But would I have written the last line
of the 3rd verse...
"Then stands up and implores me"..?

I've read this a few times Ray and each time I don't quite know what to make of it. It's a really unusual piece. I've decided you must be having a laugh at people who believe in a conventional heaven. But would those evangelists have been better off if she had kept her legs open? That is the question to ponder...
You have an unusual mind to think something like this up :) x

Thank you everyone :)
How right you are, M.C. - I only ever worked to live, now I do just intend to live!
Stella, don't think I haven't thought of doing something like that! I do like the colleagues I'm leaving behind though ;)
Lol, Stef, I can't remember how that song goes, will have to google it. If we did all sing that, it would go over my manageress's head anyway, she'd take it as a positive message!
And the main manager it's aimed at never shows her head - which is probably how come I've endured the job this long! lol xxx

ah! Stella has just given me
a shhhmashin idea!
you know the song
#putting on the agony putting on the style?
(by long gone Donnie Lonegan)
well I would like you and your bun-buyers
to sing these words to that tune.
a one,a two-a one two three....
#your kindness is a rarity
an uncommon thing these days
and may it be returned to you
in many many ways..
#my words can only say so much
I wish they could say more
but they are yours forever
of that you can be sure.....bom bom!
happy lie in,s
Benji permitting!

Oh ... OH!...hmmmm firstly I really enjoyed the rhyme nice one..but why oh why does this not speak to me of dogs?..Is it my bad mind or it is that I remembered a poem where the fourteen year old lad talked of the puppy in his pocket (and the girls had kittens in their jumpers?)
Thoroughly enjoyed! :)

Hi Lynn, I have no idea why, yet your poems seem to fill me with something, I can't describe that something except that it feels wonderful, especially Autumn Dawn, it made me feel at peace with the world and more relaxed and calm, just what I needed :) Please keep writing as I crave for more from you :)

I love the tale and you've told it well.Where it fails is in some of the "rhymes" you've employed - sniffling and grinding can't be said to rhyme just because they end in -ing! But I expect you know that.

You don't sound too retiring to me! :-)
But if you are serious then you only need to adapt to enjoy yourself. There are those who
work to live and those who live to work. Leave
them both behind if you can - and just LIVE!

Evocative and involving...and a reminder that coming 1st means little without others to join the struggle - even in matters as ephemeral as "diligence".

NO!! You don't talk crap at all. I thought it was lovely about the prism.
No that's often the case and I find that a good thing about poetry, that it isn't always straight forwardly obvious what it's about so yes I think you're right. It's my own saying - let the words speak for themselves...and whatever the reader gets is perhaps fine and dandy and why worry about anything more? Thanks for the double comments! XXX

Hi Noetic, thanks for taking me through the labyrinth of your mind. I never dabbled myself but that last line seems to personify the experience of many that do.
Am still looking out for that book you recomended which was quite well written up on Google. I enjoyed your work.

I loved the line Ray pointed out 'my toe within your heel'.
It is really refreshing sometimes to read a poem where you don't have to grapple with it to get the meaning. Where the poet just tells it like it is and the feelings whoosh over you.

This works too well. You caught me with it. Essential, apart from liines 13 and 14 as they are redundant to the overall sense. You are a poet.
