I would say those are quite ominous musings - you haven't just read the Rapture by any chance?
I like your ideas - as you say, nothing lasts forever, not even our sun... man is just an insignificant grain of sand in the universe ... a cheery thought for a Sunday morning! xx

Ta for your comments, Anthony. The Mad History thing is part of a spoof series on mental illness. Sometimes it's hard to overtrump the facts and I've had at least one person take the Egyptian story at face value!

What an intriguing and atmospheric poem. Apparently it is a scientific fact that women are better at recalling their dreams than men. Recalling the facts is one thing but the mood and feelings is another, and this does it very well.

Hi Anthony - thank you for your kind comments on my voice! Maybe I could do those voiceovers for the M&S food commercials they used to have - " mmmm broccoli" - with lots of practice I might be able to make it sound sexy! (Maybe not!!) ;-) (And hey!"a voluptuous vixen, both feisty and foxy" - are you talkin' about me? Just jokin'! It's a good line tho, might add it to my poet's profile! LOL!)

Yes, Many great lines in this Andy...

'like listening to a row of dominos
crashing down in totally
the wrong order.'

'trying to give the impression
of Greek goddesses'

'they will return to everyday life
like a pair of overstuffed vampires,'

And the ending too : )

'I slowly open

The world in waiting
Gently sighs..'

"she is a folly of seasons"

and others previuosly mentioned. I would still love to hear an audio of your reading, as I'm never convinced I'm hearing it as you intend it. Go on, treat us all!

Hi Steven,

You certainly "felt the dark side" with this one. Uncle Darth would be proud.

Near my roots in the Peak District there is a village called Hope. I would love to move there; not because it's a wonderful place to live, (it probably is) but simply to be able to open a conversation with the words "I live in Hope."

A.E.
