I'm pleased you were awake enough to read my comment 'yawn'.
(I thought 'zzzzzz' might be too complex). It's you my friend who was causing me to doze off by encouraging 'Sweet Dreams.' at the outset....what could I do?

You gotta admit it didn't have that comic spark to get me going (hence 'yawn') but we all need some serious stuff thrown in every now and again to bring us back to our senses hey?.....

Sorry DK but I do not write the POTW intros. It is someone far cleverer than I and I understand it is to remain anonymous, at least it was when I was involved some time ago.

No shame taken ?

Bah to so-called labour-saving devices. There is a UK TV advert
extolling the "advantage" of an electric whisk over a hand-held one,
neatly avoiding the cost and the likelihood of power breakdown and
inconvenience. And I bet I'm as old as - and probably older than - you, as I can even remember using a fork for the purpose of mixing
stuff.

DK, I’m afraid rumours of my greatness are hideously over-exaggerated. In fact I read all the poems on WOL.
Your Non-Fat piece struck a chord with me as I have been trying to slim my work down recently too

Hi DK,

Only just seen the question about 'keep your pecker up'. It's Cockney, (East End of London slang), for cheer up! or similar expressions. You prob know about Cockney rhyming slang, which is fascinating.

To which food are you referring: bitter and pickled eggs (beer and hard boiled eggs) or raspberry ripple (a flavoured ice cream) ? I looked up temale but think I would prefer one of the two I have described.

Hello D.K - in reply to your question about notifications, I am still getting them, but I had to say, on a kind of form to fill in, which ones I wanted, and which not. Perhaps if you go to your account you will find this form.

Always enjoy your stuff! Hope you are still getting fed one way or another| Perhaps the last effort, about departing, was due to starvation tactics? Cabeza di cocco!!!!! Not really, love your poems, keep one cheerful. What exactly are enchiladas anyway? Obviously food of a Spanish origin, but can't get further than that, and am too lazy to look it up.

Some of your list of questions after my comment I have already covered on 6 August so that should suffice. Insults tend to go stale quite quickly unless they are very skilled. It is not obligatory to comment on poems but where an inspiration comes in I feel it is justified, which I did in your case. Perhaps you might feel the urge yourself someday. Other than that I am flummoxed - either I am not getting your humour or aliens have landed. (That's my humour).

Hi DK - my career largely consisted of "people watching"
but at that stage of life, an active interest in poetry was not involved. In my retirement, waiting rooms might certainly
be source of poetical ponderings but I usually have other
things (like treatment ?) on my mind. However, I might
find something in future experience that sees me look to
humour for a poem when I'm next due for the needle or drill!
Cheers.

I'm from Ireland, my name is an Irish name.
It is pronounce like 'Qweeva'

I definitely get a lot of attraction with my name. It's unique I suppose haha.

June is my middle name Jane is a name I chose for myself when I had my confirmation.

I guess I could have chose an easier name but what fun would that be haha!

Thanks for your comment?

Hello DK! Love your profile!!! Feel like that myself. About your query - they do eat sardines, but being a pastoral people love mutton!!!!!!!
Also loved Breaking the chain. mixed up the torturers a bit though! Gestapo OK, but waterboarding I think is US technology, and as for tarring and feathering!!!!!! Loved it.

You will be glad to hear I am not competing for POTW at the moment, (Why they awarded it to me stll astonishes me) as I have broken my wrist!!!!!

Keep up the go0d work! Surprised Wolfgar Meire didn't get at you for the anachronisms!!!! Jennifer

Hello there DK - thanks for the comment on my page.
No - it's not me on the bench - a snap by me taken in
Dartmouth, Devon, overlooking the River Dart towards its
estuary. This was the jumping-off spot for many US armed
forces' vessels employed in the D-Day Landings 1944...on
Utah Beach. Now it is a very popular holiday spot - but
you can also probably imagine how busy it was then!
Cheers,
MC

Hi DK - the humour in your blogs is always welcome and
especially when it connects with things we find ourselves
suffering in this electronic/keep-up world. I tend to agree
with TA when he mentioned his suspicions that clicking on
"unsubscribe" might send an unwanted message to its
source - and, instead, I look for "delete" whenever possible. Rest assured, I do not see that happening in respect of anything you post on past/present evidence ?.

Re your water poem I saw two levels. The literal one of water flowing down to it's home the sea. The second, of us flowing through life, buffeted by rills and rocks, looking for 'home' ?

Hi d.Knape.

I have now removed my comment to your poem "A Room full of Poets" as you must have regarded it unfavourably, which perhaps it was, although I still retain that impression. I was trying to be positive in the comment. As for your nitpicking of my profile, I don't feel I have to defend it too much. Your view of poem of the week is understandable in that we all have opinions and will be tempted to knock it off its perch, as I have done myself, or wished to at least.
I'm not what the score is on this quite sad game. Yes, the photo was taken in 1967, but looks better than the old codger I am now. Inappropriate perhaps. No idea where you got the name mistake from, sorry. As for Domestos, I must get out more often. I think I lifted that from an old comic now passed away.

Apart from that have a nice day and keep up the writing.

Nod and a wink.

Ray
