I loved how it came from the soul. Pain creates the most beautiful pieces and writing helps to express the emotions we bury within our selfs. I felt her pain and I could relate in many ways and I'm sure other readers could to.

Splendid Greg. And brave. You've just ficked up your chances of a TS Eliot. If we all fired at the same time would they sink?

This should be on someone's "Desert Island Discs" selection to
remind the guest (and the rest of us) of what happens in so-called civilisation and "the madding crowd". Inventive and incisive - a great combination.

Hello Aviva ?
how nice of you to drop in , and thank you kindly for sharing your love and light towards my darkness.
I know it will pass as I have also lost my dad a few years ago.
This anger is different as I'm finally allowing my self to heal.
In the past I escaped my pain by turning to substances and finding every reason under the sun to keep busy and not face my heavy emotions. Last year I have walked deep inside my soul and left no stone unturned , the last of my anger was released in this poem and it gave me strength to acknowledge all that I burried . I love your work, your extremely talented x

Thanks, guys. I've heard it said that the kids have got it hardest because they are bearing the brunt of the economic slump. But I'd certainly swap that for a hundred=fold better chance of survival!

I've got quite a short memory, so apologies to anyone offended and I might be mistaken, but I think this might be my favourite Covid-19 poem yet! I wish it was possible to have it broadcast in shopping centres and town squares all over the country. More of a vac-sing than a vaccine but perhaps just as effective.

Working title: the kids are allwankers? But, you're right John, there are those who only think of themselves & are either too dumb to realise what they're doing, or just ignorant & uncaring.

Life's journey and all that we've learnt , in a rush to grow up to then regret that urge the second a bill came in our name. Lol. To be a minor again , id do it differently and would never dream of wanting my years to hurry bye just so I can do what I wanted.
Very enjoyable read .?

Intense and heart-wrenching. I'm sorry for your loss and I'm sad for the impact that it is having on you. You passionately looked after your mother with all your strength and care and your best ability, and of course that means you are now passionately wrapped inside strong feelings about the loss. Life and death are so very unfair. I won't tell you that the anger and grief will eventually let other feelings in again, because you won't believe me, but I'll tell you that I hope they do.

My dear friend po ☺
It honestly feels amazing to be back in the world of poetry. In my absence I have lost mum and gained a sister who was adopted during the awful times of mother and baby homes.
My first poem has helped me feel lighter. I'll be forever grateful for this amazing group.
I've missed you all deeply ?

Yeah I won't get too into how bad it is here. But only Sierra Leone, years ago, has had a worse unemployment rate than our current figure. Obviously the data and record keeping is more accurate, or existent, than 3rd(er) world countries but anyway.
No, not at all. that's the beauty of it. A reminiscent piece about pre-draconian days, albeit leads to this. Sometimes it's in the subtleties

say what you want about level 4 and all that. In South Africa we're currently going through our 3rd absolute alcohol ban since March. For several months cigarettes were banned as well. Of course, as is the case with all narcotics and contraband, they were available. But at cocaine prices.

Thank you so much Stephen and Julie, really appreciated and I'm glad it made you think.

Funny you should say that Victoria, someone has just approached me and asked if they could include it in a nature anthology,so it just goes to show, great minds think alike, (Meaning your great minds obviously) I'm very flattered that you both had the same thought.

And Paul, I have to say I loved your rendition of, "Gire and Gimble," too and I have to say, I was really humbled by that as well.

Thanks for sharing the love you beautiful people, so glad you enjoyed it.
