I think the mere fact of thinking in poetical terms puts us outside the vast majority Stephen, and engenders a sense of comradeship although I suppose the same feelings could accompany other groups, most of which are mainly conventional however. I rest my case. Carry on regardless..

Stephen,
A poem of enquiry about conformity which invariably robs people of their identity. Over many years of conformity I have become a fierce opponent of this philosophy. The individual is more important than the collective. To oppose conformity is to express freedom of thought.
A thoughtful poem and thank you for it

You’re welcome, Paul.
Be careful with the CD, though. Make sure you are alone when you listen to it. The baritone delivery a la Richard Burton might otherwise raise long forgotten stirrings in your missus!

MC - When you read Andrew Marr’s “History of Modern Britain” you realise how close we were in 1940 to “doing a deal” ie surrendering. Of an inner war cabinet of 5, Chamberlain and Halifax were in favour, Churchill. Attlee and Greenwood against.

An interesting look back at steam loco history. The Brits and Fritz
have always been closely aligned in the brilliance of their inventions,
especially those that "go anywhere"! No wonder der Fuhrer was
not so keen on attacking the UK when there was a possibility of a
deal in his mind. Just sink of ze might of der duo ven vurking as vun!
Ve vud haf bin der rulers, nicht problemz - Brits and Fritz. Achtung
alles in ordnung...(then Adolf wakes up).

Sometimes these go a bit daft, this one was just a pleasure doing (:
Glad you liked it.

The basic laws that keep us from harm's way
To live another day
Must be seen and felt to turn over faith
when you believe all that you have seen
only after asking the question
The baseline of truth is that we are all resonating
we can relinquish our fears through understanding
where true knowledge is power without control
To see the light at the end of the tunnel is to understand how the energy flows
Question all and judge nothing, then begin to bare witness to the ground you walk on
Then see your right to belong
So don't get hooked by looking for your answers in a book
Anything that is written is first in mind
so construct your temple of thought through your heart
then be defined
No need for white robes and glory
You are living your our story
when you believe you can never reach the end of the rainbow
see that the rainbow is you!
then raise up others so that they can see too.
Thanks for the Poem sir. Paul
Peace
Willow

It’s a thought, Stephen. Perhaps she saw the Dwight D Eisenhower whistle by once and thought “I’m having one of those named after me.
I was indeed an anorak, Paul. Those were the days when you could hop on a train to London as an 11-year old to do some spotting with a couple of mates . Times have changed.

Thanks for reading Julie. It was more like a way of life I remember - something for everybody. Poundland can't hold a candle to it IMO. I even remember when they had gas globes on the ceilings. Giving my age away, I wish somebody would take it!

Thanks to Stephen, Paul and Dawn for the generous comments. I have to confess that it's been some time since I was in Primrose Hill (a bit more recently than 1842) but the place still has a mysterious quality about it, at least in my imagination.
