BTW, I do like your 'sample' above. 'Speechless with a mouthful of syllables' is super!
But you can never experience the inadequacy of speech until you've known the span of perception and thought; words are just the trolley car. Which statement is pretty weird, but I bet you know what I mean.
When I took part in a 'Poets' Club', writing, reading, discussing etc. I met a fellow member one day, in a shop elevator. She opened her purse and took out a slip of paper, saying, 'Look, Cynthia: 'The Parting'. I keep it with me always.' I was so touched I wept.
The 'poem' was a real experience; and perhaps that is what truly resonates.
