Stepping over the threshold

we feel it through our feet:

water; bubbling up through stony ground

refreshing

enticing.

Cascading down and in

we encounter Fiction’s energies ,

dark pools of Sci-Fi with muddy tributaries of Crime;

before we find smooth stepping stones,

rightly spaced for children.

Upstairs, though downstream,

the river broadens with the Sciences,

provides for Business and the Arts;

there are eddies awhirl with History,

deep lakes of Thinking and Religion.

Travel beckons – and the needed Languages -

the waters slow:

time for Coffee before the coming tide.
