                        There’s a pasty shop in Bolton

                        been here years and years

                        now Osborne’s slapped on V.A.T

                        It’s enough to bring on tears.

                        You can buy a pasty cold

                        a hot one costs much more,

                        why pick on the humble pasty

                        It grieves us to the core.

                        I can’t afford a hot one

                        It’s given me quite a turn

                        there’s a double dip recession

                        I don’t have money to burn.

                        We know the deficit has to be paid

                        we know that funds are few

                        but this is going a step too far

                        and George is in a stew.

                        Don’t walk down Churchgate  George

                        keep away from the Market Cross

                        for Lord Derby upset us once

                        and here his head was lost.
