The Octagon

First is the actor, watching from the wings,
Second is Elizabeth in Diamond Jubilee.
Three for corrupt politicians
Becoming tarnished gems:
Pride, the liar and the cheat
And four for our own compass points,
The North-West the heartbeat.
Five are Olympics rings, athletes rehearsing for the race,
Six are life’s fates; joys, despair, love and hate, fitness and illness.
And seven are the ages of man,
The scripts of dawn to dusk
Life has it’s day,
And eight is the play -
Creating the Octagon.
