A wave of crystal breaks across the mind
Replete with vorpal edges sharp as glass, -
A whole domain of elegance and class
So bright it leaves our reeling senses blind;
And fluted silver glitters close beside
Fair polished gold from some deep shining seam,
Inlaid with pearls and precious stones agleam:
A gorgeous, limpid, wan and sparkling tide.
This gleaming store where connoisseurs belong
Divides such tasteful people from the rest;
Unites these shining shoppers all as one
Like bridge, fine wines, roulette and modern art.
These shining windows arrogate the best, -
A diamond wedge that keeps the rest apart.
