Candy Shop Kid

Sweet smellin’ candy shop,

pear drops and peas,

I’ll take ten cents of that one

and a quarter of these.

Cobwebs and spiders,

floorboards worn bare.

The shopkeeper’s daughter

with blonde curly hair.

Glass jars and dishes

that stand in a row.

Children with wishes.

A cat with a bow.

Sweet candy strands, whistles on sticks’

lemonade sherbet and bubblegum mix.

Save them for later or

you wont eat your tea.

The temptation’s too much

I’ll just have two or three,

Then I’ll be back tomorrow

I’ll come straight here from school.

If I aint got no money

I’ll just stand here and drool.
