The Poet

I never wrote until our paths crossed

Then poetry for the people in rhyme

And when she inspired poems of love

We plotted a course in our lives

Now some words have turned to music

And she performs on a different stage

The words I wrote for her haven’t altered

but our journey in life has changed.
