Open Mic Event

Contact: sregan@gmail.com

Liverpool's Liver Bards meet at the historic Ma Boyle's Bar on the first Tuesday of each month (except for January).

These open-mic evenings, hosted by Ali Harwood, are long-running and open to anyone who would like to take part.

The format is simple. Each poet is given a set of five minutes. Then, in the second round, everyone has the chance to read a final poem (if there's time).

Short theatrical monologues are also welcome, as are singer-songwriter slots, but the evening is primarily a poetry night.

The vibe is fairly bohemian at the Liver Bards, and quite often the group carries on with a few late drinks and social intercourse after the poetry finishes.

Entry: Free

Time: 8.00

I notice this incorrect info has still not been removed. Liver Bards takes place at Ma Boyle's in Liverpool on the first Tuesday of every month. NOT THE THIRD MONDAY.

I'm afraid this is very outdated info. As a member of Liver Bards I can say that it's now organised and hosted by Ali Harwood and the monthly event is the first Tuesday of the month.
