He has worked in training and personal development with a philosophical twist since leaving university and has been writing poetry for the past three years - culminating in the recent volume 'From A Slow Carriage' pub: www.roadworkspublishing.com Now living in Lancaster, he is chair of Word Market, an organisation which nurtures and supports both writers and readers in Cumbria.
James Knight
Originally from Blackpool, I have spent time in Manchester, and am currently settled in Lancaster. Both Blackpool and Manchester have had massive influences on my poetry - from the arcade sleaziness of Blackpool's promenade to the crumbling back streets of Manchester's Northern Quarter. Currently a third year student on Lancaster University's Creative Writing degree my work can be listened to at www.myspace.com/animalwrites and read in the 'Poet's Showcase' section at www.writeoutloud.net
Kate Davis
An outlandish humourist Kate says 'basically I'm a very boring middle-aged woman with a tendency to whinge. I am in fact a hugely talented artist with a massive portfolio of published and performed work. Beside my artistic skills I'm a fantastic cook, a wonderful mother and I'm kind to old people and animals especially the poorly ones and I'm a good driver and I never forget birthdays or grumble about anything at all!'
And Music:
Tongue Tide are a Barrow based female duo who have enchanted audiences with their inimitable style of rich harmonies, captivating lyrics and emotive delivery. Their eclectic set is a mixture of stirring original material interwoven with obscure, tongue in cheek a cappella songs from the likes of Tom Lehrer and Artisan. -'dark, delicious and delirious'

Balloondogs fronted by Mollie Baxter who has been performing her lyric-driven folk-rock songs thrown somewhere between P.J. Harvey and Mazzy Star for many years, putting out three EPs. Now, at last, the songs have been reborn in glorious technicolour with the help of Balloondogs: Rob Daniels (Scout) drums and vocals; Barry Rowlingson, (Monkey Bucket) Bass; and Daniel Wilson, guitar and vocals. Be ready for old favourites with new life.
