Wendy Cope, who is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, is the best selling poet of collections such as ‘Making Cocoa for Kingsley Amis’ and ‘Serious Concerns’. Her third collection, ‘If I Don’t Know’ was nominated for the Whitbread Prize. She has edited three successful collections: The Funny Side; The Faber Book of Bedtime Stories; Heaven on Earth. Radio 4 listeners voted her the number one choice for Poet Laureate. Have a glorious and seditious afternoon with Wendy Cope in the beautiful surroundings of Haigh Hall. Wendy will read a disaffected, ironic and hilarious set, punctuated by a traditional afternoon tea in the Douglas Suite.
