Elvis Mcgonagall's Open Mic
CARAVANS, KILTS AND COOKERY: THREE THINGS WE ALL LIKE TO WRITE POEMS ABOUT.
AND THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO BRING THOSE WRITINGS TO A WIDER PUBLIC.
ELVIS MCGONAGALL, RESIDENT LOUNGE-LIZARD ON RADIO 4’S SATURDAY LIVE, AND SOMETIME EUROPEAN POETRY SLAM CHAMPION, HOSTS AN OPEN MIC WITH A DIFFERENCE:
ALL POEMS HAVE TO BE ABOUT KILTS OR COOKERY OR CARAVANS.
OR ALL THREE (THERE’S A CHALLENGE FOR YOU, AS IT’S ONE POEM PER READER).
IT’LL BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED, SO CONTACT US ON 020 8465 6154
OR russell@applesandsnakes.org TO RESERVE YOUR SLOT.
AND ONE MORE THING. ALL OPEN-MIKERS HAVE TO WEAR SOMETHING TARTAN.
NO TARTAN, NO STARTIN’ – THAT’S THE RULE. AND IF WE’RE LUCKY, ELVIS HIMSELF WILL PITCH IN WITH SOME OF THOSE STOMPINGLY TOPICAL POEMS THAT GET FI GLOVER ALL A-QUIVER ON A SATURDAY MORNING.
When: Thursday 30 April @ 7:30pm
