FRED D'AGUIAR
Fred D'Aguiar was born in London in 1960 to Guyanese parents & grew up in Guyana,
returning to England when he was a teenager. An award-winning novelist & playwright,
he is also the author of five collections of poetry. Fred D'Aguiar has taught in the USA
since 1992, where he is currently Professor of English & Africana Studies at Virginia
Tech State University. He will be reading from his new Carcanet collection, 'Continental
Shelf', which is a Poetry Book Society Choice.
