Calder Wood Press: 'Five Live' Reading

These are five distinctive voices, distinctive poets, reading in a variety of styles and subjects.
Jayne Wilding was joint runner-up in the 2009 Callum Macdonald Memorial Award for her
Sky blue notebook from the Pyrenees, published by Calder Wood Press in 2008.
Mary Johnston was the other joint runner-up. Her new book, which includes a CD
of Mary reading her poems, Fa dis she think she is?, was published in June 2009.
Jo Gibson, from Dunbar, launched The Heart is Always Full in 2007. These are highly
original poems about family, love and other subjects.
Irene Brown, from Edinburgh, writes warm, witty poems in English and Scots. Her book,
Glass Slippers, was launched in the 'Duo Boots' shoe shop in early 2009.
Anne Connolly, long active in Edinburgh's School of Poets, produced Downside Up in 2008. These are marvellous poems, delivered in Anne's lovely voice.
The readings will be introduced by Colin Will, Calder Wood Press publisher, who will be celebrating his 67th birthday on the day of the reading.
